“Banana-ware”: Reift beim Kunden
Banana software is software that is released prematurely and still needs to ripen in the hands of customers. Think about ‘early access’ nowadays in computer games and you immediately know what banana-ware is.
This could be because there are still many bugs due to bad quality assurance, half-baked features or just not enough functionality to be effective at drawing feedback for an MVP.
Some examples on how to prevent banana software
- Cutting features and or scope
- Make sure you have good tests, with critical coverage.
- Gather actual customer feedback through things like an MVP.
- Have enough time, for example to do discovery.
- Avoid over-engineering.
