Hybrid transactional/analytical processing is a combined OLTP and OLAP system in one. Often they are two separate systems bundled together.
The result of these automated analytics are then used in the traditional OLTP system and used for operations. For example fraud detection or recommendation engines both need to analyse and aggregate records/events to be useful.
